redsn0w 0.9.6b6 ( google that )
Download the Firm Ware of your iphone/ipad/ipod/appletv :from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
( if 3gs upgrade to 4.2.1 or 3g Stay on 4.1 if you havnt upgraded )
after all this install cydia in the process( when it asks to and then after its jailbroken go to cydia and search
redsn0w( snow with an numerical 0(zero ) and download and install the package which says redsn0w and repo666 etc etc.
and after the installation the phone is ready to be used, just reboot and its unlocked
ps. it updates your baseband of that of an ipad 6.15 which can not be downgraded but if you seriously need to see yoru carrier unlocked you shall do this process,
